Mr Mirošič is a state secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. He has served as ambassador in Libya, Tunisia, Malta, Italy and San Marino, and the UK. Prior to that, he was a state secretary and a foreign policy and EU adviser in the Prime Ministerʼs Office. He was one of the negotiators for the Arbitration Agreement between Slovenia and Croatia and the head of the South Eastern Europe Department.
